WE DESERVE

It was all a dream…
In January 2020, we embarked on a journey to educate Black consumers about the importance of their spending power within the wine and spirits industry and provide our community with the resources they need in order to shop with confidence. Throughout 2020, we focused on making meaningful connections within the beverage world and internally focused on our mission. Because of our areas of interest, it has brought us to WE DESERVE.
During Women’s History Month, we will bring awareness to the inequities within the beverage culture by focusing on reframing what one should know and what one wants to know about wine while we hold businesses accountable for the options that they present to non-white consumers. Over the next 30 days, we are asking Black consumers and allies to embark on this journey with us:
Start by signing up for Boston University’s The Curse of Connoisseurship , where we will be having an in-depth conversation about WE DESERVE and our role in the beverage industry. BU Gastronomy students, Amy Johnson and Altamash Gaziyani, will be hosting us on Thursday, March 11 at 6pm EST
We are working on a stress free virtual experience for Black consumers to candidly share with each other their very real and unique experiences within Boston’s beverage scene. This is a judgement free zone with an educational twist!
Additionally, we’ve rolled out an open letter for your signature. This letter will be made available to retailers, restaurants, and bars detailing exactly how we want to be received as Black consumers within these businesses, how we want to experience the levels of hospitality they are best known for, and how we want to be welcomed and educated within these spaces
The team will be dropping gems on social media as well but we are so grateful for you rocking with us as we address what WE DESERVE, while opening new bottles along the way.
